Management Explained

Management Explained

The management control element of the B-BBEE Codes is designed to address the lack of suitably qualified Blacks in senior executive leadership and management positions, which drives the actual implementation of operational and strategic decisions of measured businesses.

There are two main focus areas in the management scorecard with an emphasis on black representation at executive levels.

  1. Board participation
  • Voting rights of black board members
  • Black executives directors

2. Top management participation

Both of these areas of focus are calculated by the use of the ARG principle.

A single bonus point is awarded if the measured entity meets the Black Independent Non-Executive Board Members compliance target of 40%.

The management control scorecard for QSE's only focuses on Black representation at top-management level. Two bonus points are awarded if the compliance target for black women representation as top-management is met.

This scorecard is also calculated using the ARG principle .
